Strat-O-Matic will now have a section of our website devoted to league classified ads. We will publish a new list of classifieds on or about the first of each month.

The ad content will be limited to leagues looking for players, players looking for leagues or opponents, and tournament announcements.

In your ad, please specify which sport the ad refers to. Ads will be limited to a maximum of 50 words.

Deadlines: Please email ad copy 10 days in advance of the first of the month. Any ads placed after our in house deadline will be held and posted on the 1st of the following month.

You can email your ad directly to us by clicking here: som1@ix.netcom.com. Use the Subject: Classified Ad and type in the ad in the body of the email. Please enclose your full name at the end of the ad if it is not included in the body of your ad.

LOOKING FOR PLAYERS:

The Founders Football League is currently recruiting coaches for the upcoming 2008 season. The FFL is a 16 game computer draft league, featuring consecutively played schedule with injuries, use of offensive/defensive coordinators and realistic talent levels (1:1.5). We are now entering our fourth year and have several openings available.

The North American Football League (NAFL) is set to kick off basic play this fall.  Draft to be held in September, games start in October.  Email NAFLCommish@AOL.com for more info.
The NBSFBL (Computer Pro Football) has moved to the Fall for its 3rd season, is expanding to 24 teams and needs several GMs.  We are a draft league with salary cap.  The expansion draft for the 4 new teams will be mid-August followed by the annual free agent draft when Version 8.0 is released.  Each 50-player team plays a 16-game season followed by playoffs.  If interested contact Don Edge at ajl44thala@aol.com
The USBL is a 30 team league which starts in April.  Managing your roster is just as important as managing your games.  We are a salary league with an Amateur Draft, a Rule Draft, Waivers and Free Agency.  Teams have rosters of up to 150 players.  The USBL is the most realistic Strat-O-Matic league you’ll find! Looking for people with a strong commitment. Two teams currently available, the Montgomery Biscuits and the Modesto Nuts.

HOCKEY MANAGERS WANTED - Established hockey league (over 20 years) looking for new managers.  We are a 16-team keeper league and play a 74-game schedule using either the board game or the computer version.  You will have a chance to draft your own team from the available teams with many stars available.  Contact jjsmta@verizon.net for more details.
If you work, have kids, pay rent  or worry about the mortgage at night, but also love baseball and wished you had time to play Strat-o-matic, the THE BVL is for you (currently in its 27th season; see http://www.bvlaction.com). We have two openings and are always looking for backups. We use Super Advanced rules mostly, plus others, i.e., injury chart (Paul O'Neill, Hank Blalock careers cut short), brawl chart (Guillermo Mota is one SOB); we have rainouts; we pay our players (don't worry, only in shekels), draft minor leaguers, etc. This is a 10-team league of 50-men rosters; we play a 70-game schedule -- at a mellow pace. Along with f2f action, we use Hal the Computer, phone, most forms of electronic media, smoke signals to play our games. We have current owners  living in NYC/New Jersey/Westchester/Florida. I am trying to put together a friendly once a week Strat-O-Matic baseball player cards league in the Central New Jersey area, and I am looking for more players. I have two friends and myself, all of whom are in our late 30's, who have been playing the baseball game on and off since we were kids. Basically we draft players from a chosen season and then play a full 162 game schedule with those teams. We would like to start a few leagues where anyone interested could pick and choose what decade they would like to join and draft a team from that decade or mutiple decades  We own multiple seasons from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's.     I have not played SOM Basketball in awhile but have an itch to get back into it. I was a COMMISH of an SOM Basketball League several years ago. I have played in leagues using other games when they were PBM since 1973. I was a Commish of a basball league that started in 1974 that I had to leave about 12 years ago but it is still running.
