Reporting a Netplay Bug

Netplay bugs are particularly difficult to recreate and fix.  There are literally millions of combinations of league settings for our game.  So it is impossible to test for every combination.  In addition, Netplay bugs sometimes only manifest themselves on certain machines or under particular circumstances.  We have fixed many of the Netplay problems and we will continue to correct other Netplay problems as quickly as we can recreate them.  If you are experiencing a Netplay bug that you would like for us to work on here is what we will need you to do: 

 

Stop play, exit the program and create a folder called “Netplay Bug”.  Include the following items in this folder:

 

1)      Create a text file called “problem.txt” that describes in detail what went wrong.  Tell us exactly what happened and any other details that you recall.  Include the e-mail address of both opponents in case we have additional questions.

2)      Copy the “sombbnet.log” file from BOTH machines (you’ll need to get your opponent to e-mail you his log file).  The “sombbnet.log” file will be found in the game folder.  You’ll need to rename one of them so that you can include both in the same folder.

3)      Copy the “autosave.sav” from your game folder to the Netplay Bug folder.

4)      Do a league backup and place it in the Netplay Bug folder.

 

After you have all of these items in the Netplay Bug folder zip it up and send the zip file as an attachment to us.  Use “NETPLAY BUG” as the title of your e-mail.  We will do our best to correct any problems that are submitted.
