The Doctor is in: Julius Erving, the ABA’s most popular player and the sport’s most spectacular performer, moved from Virginia to New York and gave the young league its most celebrated moment. The Nets were coached by Kevin Loughery and featured rookie Larry Kenon. They had the best season record (55-29) and went 12-2 in the playoffs.
