Hockey Seasons
1959-60 Hockey Windows Season
- Terminator: Montreal destroys NHL for record 5th straight Cup
- Rocket: Richard’s last season
- Golden Jet: Bobby Hull’s breakout season
Not on this planet: Nobody ever dominated the NHL the way the Canadiens did from 1956 though 1960. Each year the Habs led in goals scored and allowed, led the league in points and finished the job by winning five Stanley Cups. Jean Beliveau and Bernie Geoffrion led a balanced scoring attack, leaving individual scoring honors to Chicago’s Hull (39 goals, 81 points) and Boston’s Bronco Horvath (39 goals, 80 points). This season told the league that young Hull would be one of its elite scorers.
