2000-01 Hockey Windows Season
- Ray Bourque finally gets the glory – with Colorado
- Out of retirement, Lemieux is as good as ever
- Roy only goalie to win 3rd playoff MVP award
Oldies but goodies: In his 22nd season, Ray Bourque finally won a Stanley Cup. Sixteen seasons after his first, Patrick Roy won his third Conn Smythe award. Both starred for Colorado, which also had season MVP Joe Sakic, won the regular season with 118 points, then beat defending champ New Jersey in a seven-game Stanley Cup final. Perhaps more remarkable, Mario Lemieux suited up for a half season after three in retirement and scored 35 goals and 76 points – a higher goals/game, assists/game and points/game average than anyone.
