2008 Football Windows Season
- Steeler’s last-minute catch wins Super Bowl
- Cardinals fly (pass) their way into their 1st SB
- Tennessee’s 13-3 best record
The long-doormat Cardinals nearly won the Super Bowl in their first try. But Pittsburgh’s last-minute TD prevailed. Many other firsts made the NFL exciting. 0-16 Detroit, for instance. Rookie coaches and QBs combined to make Atlanta and Baltimore playoff teams. In their debut as feature backs, Atlanta’s Michael Turner (1,699yds, 17tds) and Carolina’s DeAngelo Williams (1,515 yds, 5.5 avg, 18tds) were top-three gainers. Three rookies were in the top eight: Houston’s Steve Slaton (1,282), Chicago’s Matt Forte (1,238) and Tennessee’s Chris Johnson (1,228).
