Hockey Card Sets (By Season)
2011-12 Hockey Cards
- Los Angeles wins its first Stanley Cup; New Jersey also in surprising finals
- Vancouver (111 points), Rangers (109) lead nine 100-point teams
- Stamkos scores 60 goals, Malkin 50 goals and 109 points
Only 10 points separated the top nine teams, all with more than 100 points in a season of parity underscored by the playoffs: Los Angeles, the No. 8 seed in the West, faced New Jersey, No. 6 in the East in the most under-dog dominated finals ever. Seven more teams had 90 points – a season ripe for fascinating replays and competitive leagues … Individually, Tampa’s Steven Stamkos became only the second man to score 60 goals since 1996. Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin was the overall scoring leader, dominating in the long absence of teammate Sidney Crosby, as the league’s only 100-point man. St. Louis’ Brian Elliott (.940) and Jaroslav Halak (.926) led 11 goalies with save percentages of .920 or better while the division-winning Blues frustrated foes by yielding a mere 1.60 goals per game, the league’s best mark.
