Hall of Fame pitcher Goose Gossage made headlines last week when he criticized superstar players Jose Bautista, Bryce Harper and Yoenis Cespedes for excessively celebrating home runs. Gossage went as far as to call Bautista a “disgrace to the game,” according to a report from ESPN.
While Strat-O-Matic refuses to take sides in this feud, the company simulated 100 plate appearances for each of the three hitters against Gossage’s 1982 Strat-O-Matic card.

SUMMARY: In a small sample size, Gossage clearly had the upperhand on all three hitters, though it is safe to assume that Bautista, Harper and Cespedes would have let Gossage have it when they homered off him. It is unclear whether any of the three hitters charged the mound after being hit by a pitch.
