In honor of Jackie Robinson Day, as well as this past weekend’s release of the movie 42, this week’s 3-Minute Baseball features Jackie Robinson’s first season in the Major Leagues. Jackie’s Brooklyn Dodgers edged out St. Louis by 5 games to win the 1947 NL Pennant. Jackie went on to win Rookie of the Year honors and finished 5th in the MVP voting.
