We’re very excited for the launch of our new Baseball Card Viewer App! Naturally, we know there will be plenty of questions about how it works so here’s some FAQs that we have come across so far:
 
Q: Where can I find this app?
A:  This app is now available on the iTunes and Google Play stores. You can use it on any iOS or Android mobile device so tablets are included.
 
Q: How do I log in?
A: Use the same username and password that you would use for our website.
 
Q: What comes with the app?
A:  As a special promotion, for the first week of release, we are giving access to every card set that will be available on the app. This offer expires May 30th, after which the only card set free for viewing without a subscription will be our Baseball Heroes I set.
 
Q: What does this app do?
A: This is a handy personal reference to any Strat-O-Matic season you could ever want. We know your computers are not always handy, so you can do many things like favorite certain players or teams or quick reference so you don’t miss a beat in your leagues. This gives every possible season, so if you don’t have them all, you do now!
 
Q: Can I use this app to play a game of Strat-O-Matic?

A: No, this app was not developed to replace our board, computer, or online games.  Instead, it was developed as the ultimate database and reference guide to all of Strat-O-Matic Baseball history.  With access to over 100,000 cards you will never tire of browsing through baseball history and learning about the players of the past.  In addition, with an optional add-on you can view cards that are updated daily throughout the current major league season.  Pull out your phone and view up-to-date cards for every player in the real-life game that you are watching!  While not a game, we believe that once you start using this app you will find many ways that it will enhance your enjoyment of baseball.
 
Q: How do I use this app?
A: Upon loading the app for the first time, there is a tutorial that guides you through the process of using the app. If you need to refer back to it, select help from the menu.
 
Q: What are the subscription options and how do they work?
A:  You can go here to view the various subscription options. It is $4.99/month for our entire library of full seasons and $0.99/month for an add-on that contains Baseball Daily, Hall of Fame, Negro League, Japanese League, and Cuban League sets. Alternatively, a 12-month subscription is available for $49.99 for the entire season library and $9.99 for the aforementioned add-on.  As you can see in the product page, the subscription will renew automatically for the selected time period unless it is cancelledby the user. 
 
Note that you cannot buy a subscription in the app, you can only purchase one through our website for now.
 
Q: Can cards be printed from the app?
A: We are NOT adding a print feature to this app. This is meant to be a reference to the entirety of Strat-O-Matic’s baseball catalog and is not intended to replace our physical card sets, which will be produced the same way they have been every season. 
 
Q: The app will not let me log in, as my username has a space! What should I do?
A: We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. In the meantime, if you would like to edit your username, you can do so by logging in to your account on our website. Alternatively, if you use your associated email address as your username, you should be able to log in.
 
Q: Will the basic sides of the cards be available?
A: No. Only the advanced/super-advanced side will be visible.
 
Q: Which players are available for viewing?
A: Any player who has been previously carded within the Windows version of that season is visible with the subscription.
 
Q: If we purchased the seasons before, can we view those cards at no extra cost?
A: Any past purchases you have made with us are unrelated to the subscription for this app. You do not get certain seasons unlocked if you have purchased computer rosters with us before. Conversely, there is not prerequisite requirement of past purchases in order to have specific seasons available; they are all available with the subscription. 
 
Q: How do you move between cards? 
A: You can swipe between cards.
 
Q: Is there any way to sort players within a certain team or season? 
A: No.

Q: What can I search for using the search feature?
A: You can search for specific players, specific teams, or search by specific statistical criteria to see qualifying players.
 
Q: Is 5-stars enough for a rating?
A: Probably not, but if it makes you stop there, we guess it’s ok.
