Let’s Get Wild! The playoffs start tonight with the AL Wild Card Game!

We have simulated tonight’s action between rivals New York and Boston to get a preview of how the game can go. Who will move on to the ALDS against Tampa Bay? Let’s find out!

Gerrit Cole escapes a bases loaded jam in the first by getting Alex Verdugo to ground into a double play. Cole again gets into trouble in the 2nd before Christian Arroyo knocks in a run with an RBI groundout.

New York ties it up in the top of the 4th after loading the bases with no one out by Gio Urshela’s sacrifice fly. Nathan Eovaldi escapes further damage though by striking out Kyle Higashioka and getting Andrew Velazquez to pop out.

Cole runs into trouble once again in the 4th and Christian Arroyo strikes again. A 3 run homer knocks Cole out and gives Boston a 4-1 lead.

Boston pitchers hold on the rest of the way aside from a solo HR by Rougned Odor in the 9th and beat New York 4-2.
