Baseball Seasons
1910 Baseball Windows Season
- Ace of Clubs: Athletics’ five-year dynasty begins
- Ace of Diamonds: Jack Coombs wins 31, then 3 more in Series
- Ace of Hearts: Final-game bunts let Lajoie outhit hated Cobb
The Athletics won four of five pennants and three World Series from 1910-15, and this was their biggest winner (102 wins), led by pitching ace Coombs. The A’s and 104-win Cubs were overshadowed by the spectacular AL batting race decided on the final day, when popular Nap Lajoie got seven bunt singles against the Browns, who seemingly wanted to deny unpopular Ty Cobb his fourth straight batting title.
