Baseball Seasons
1915 Baseball Windows Season
- Babe Ruth wins 18 as pitcher, leads Red Sox in homers
- Ty Cobb wins ninth straight batting title
- Gavvy Cravath hits record 24 HR; his Phils wintheir first pennant
With the A’s and Giants taking unfamiliar residence in the cellar, there was room at the top in both leagues. Detroit’s Ty Cobb hit .369, but Boston’s Babe Ruth won 18 games in his first full season as a pitcher, giving the Red Sox the edge in a tight pennant race. In the NL, Philadelphia finally won a pennant. If there had been such a thing, the Babe Ruth of his day was Phillies OF Cravath, who hit a record 24 HR with 115 RBI.
