Baseball Seasons
1932 Baseball Windows Season
- Pinstripe Glory: 1,000-run Yankees crush AL, then Cubs in Series sweep
- XX rated: "Double X” Jimmie Foxx clouts 58 homers
- NL sluggers: Klein (.348-38-137), Ott (.316-38-123), Paul Waner (.341, 62 doubles)
The A’s Jimmie Foxx (.364-58-169) and Al Simmons (.322-35-151) out-slugged NY’s Lou Gehrig (.349-34-151) and Babe Ruth (.341-41-137), but a Yankees team with nine Hall of Famers obliterated everything in its path. The last World Series homer of Ruth’s career was the stuff of legend: His reputed “called shot” against Cubs pitcher Charlie Root.
