1933 Baseball Windows Season
- Deja vu: Another rookie manager leads Washington to the pennant
- Two Triple Crown winners: Jimmie Foxx and Chuck Klein
- Giants best in five-team NL struggle, World Series
The Senators won their first pennant in 1924, when Bucky Harris was a rookie manager and the second baseman. They won their last in ’33, when Joe Cronin was a rookie manager and the shortstop. Cronin was also part of the Hall-of-Fame-laden AL lineup in the first All-Star game. But Cronin’s glory ended in October, when Mel Ott slugged the Giants to victory in five World Series games.
