Baseball Seasons
1934 Baseball Windows Season
- Dizzy and Daffy: Dean brothers win 49 in pennant race, 4 in Series
- Lou Gehrig’s Triple Crown: .363-49-165
- Rowdy "Gashouse Gang” battles to 7-game Series win
The Tigers had the runs (957, with 462 driven in by the infielders), but the Cardinals had the gas – the scrappy, brawling Gashouse Gang infield with Frankie Frisch, Leo Durocher and Pepper Martin. St. Louis also had the NL’s last 30-game winner, Dizzy Dean, who also won Game 7 and two other World Series games. Brother Paul “Daffy” Dean won 19 and then one more in pivotal Game 6 of the Series.
