1934 Negro League Baseball Windows Season
- Pittsburgh Crawfords, Philly Stars, Chicago Giants in 10-team collection
- Black Ball stars: 18 Hall of Famers, 50 more from SOM’s Negro League Stars set
- Twice as nice: Rated for a 144-game season or integration with 1934 Majors
Though the Negro National League had just six teams for all of a sharply reduced 1934 schedule, this collection offers 10 teams to capture the talent of the day, rated as if they played a 144-game season.
Now enjoy Josh Gibson as a 36-HR slugger, Oscar Charleson (.930 OPS) and Satchel Paige (20-5, 2.20) on an 88-56 Pittsburgh Crawfords team that were just good enough to top the Philadelphia Stars (86-58) and Chicago Giants (84-60). Chicago won the first half-season with Hall of Famers Turkey Stearnes (30 HR, 18 3B, 1.057 OPS; CF-1) and Big Bill Foster (26-9, 2.57). Philly boasted Jud Wilson (.955 OPS) and Slim Jones (24-10, 2.55). Go to Havana to find Martin Dihigo (32 HR, .984 OPS; 11-6, 3.31 pitching) … Just a sample from the deep reservoir of talent throughout this league.
