Hockey Seasons
1964-65 Hockey Windows Season
- Canadiens regain the Cup
- Red Wings best in regular season
- Pilote sets scoring record for defensemen
Just once in 30 years the Detroit Red Wings were the best at winning. This time. Norm Ullman led the NHL in goals (42) and acrobatic rookie G Roger Crozier starred. But, after Detroit took regular-season honors with 87 points, and after three years of Toronto triumphs in the post-season, Montreal regained the top prize in a seven-game Stanley Cup final with Detroit. Chicago had fun, too. Stan Mikita led in scoring (87 points) and Pierre Pilote’s 59 points were the most ever by a defenseman. Can’t get enough? Here’s more.
