Hockey Seasons
1966-67 Hockey Windows Season
- Last call: Toronto wins the Cup in final Original Six season
- First sight: Bobby Orr’s successful rookie season
- Breaking the ice: Chicago is regular-season champ 1st time
With dominant offense (Stan Mikita’s Scooter Line, Bobby Hull and his center Phil Esposito were five of the league’s top nine scorers) and the best defense in the league, the Windy City heroes breezed through the regular season to 41 wins and 94 points in 70 games. But the aging, third-place Maple Leafs knocked out Chicago, then Montreal in six-game series as a fitting farewell to the Original Six. Toronto has not won the Cup since.
