Hockey Card Sets (By Season)
1975-76 Hockey 6 Team Card Set
- Rivals swap biggest stars: Phil Esposito for Ratelle, Park
- Cup finals: Montreal wins record 58 (127 points), sweeps Philadelphia (118)
- Boston (113 points), Buffalo (105), NY Isles (101), Chicago (82)
If a hockey season can be a morality story, many consider this first of four straight Stanley Cups for the Canadiens a historic turning point. It ended the two-year reign of Philadelphia’s “Broad Street Bullies” and saw high-scoring finesse triumph over thuggery. Guy Lafleur won the first of three straight scoring titles. The Islanders’ Bryan Trottier set rookie records with 63 assists and 95 points. After the big Bruins-Rangers mid-season trade, Jean Ratelle became the first player to score 100 points for two franchises.
