The 2015 NCAA season is begging for a replay: A five-point national championship game. If not for unthinkable finishes (Michigan State over Michigan, Arkansas over Mississippi), neither Alabama nor Michigan State would have been in the four-team playoff.

Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry led the nation in rushing yards and touchdowns, broke Herschel Walker’s SEC single-season record and became the first from Alabama to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season … Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey broke Barry Sanders’ single-season record for all-purpose yards … LSU’s Leonard Fournette’s 1,741 yards set LSU’s single-season rushing record and he became the first in SEC history to run for 200 yards in three consecutive games … Ezekiel Elliott’s second 1,500-yard season tied rushing records held by Archie Griffin and Eddie George at Ohio State … Florida State’s Dalvin Cook broke Warrick Dunn’s single-season rushing record … Navy QB Keenan Reynolds’ 21 rushing TDs gave him the NCAA career record for rushing touchdowns (88) and yards rushing by a QB.
